I AM SO HAPPY YOU ARE HERE!

As a corporate manager/leader and an entrepreneur, I know how it feels loving your job and coping hard with all the requirements it puts on you. I know how it feels and how hard juggling between professional and private life is. I was there when I lost my peace and had to find another way of coping with it all. Now I deal with it differently. I found balance. And I am enjoying my job again.

It is late at night, and you are still working. So much to do. People are waiting for materials, proposals, plans, budgets … some even waiting for things they were supposed to do. You are tired. So tired. And you cannot sleep. You have an endless longing for chocolate or other comfort foods. Or you cannot eat at all. Your head is about to explode, and you forget things. You are absent, lost in your thoughts, and have difficulties with concentration.  And then they come — self-doubt, guilt, and fear. You doubt you are good enough for all these responsibilities and tasks. You are judging yourself, feel guilty for not being good enough. You look at other co-workers and ask yourself, “How do they manage all that work AND have a life?” You are afraid of your future.

As tiredness evolves, you start to resent people, you are angry, you feel alone, not understood. Sometimes even have the feeling, people around you gossip about you. You dislike them even more. You are irritable; you lose it quickly, you blame people for things. You are protective of your project, you take feedback as criticism, and it hurts so much — your feeling of not being worthy and good enough blossoms. Now you already know you have to do something but don’t know what and where to start. You are procrastinating even. It feels like being in a carrousel that is speeding up, you feel dizzy and sick, but you don’t know how to step down. I was there too. You can step down, and it can get better. You can make it better! You have that power!
